Where is the Madcap Cottage HQ?
The Madcap HQ resides within a former country music radio station, WTNC, on the outskirts of up-and-coming Thomasville, North Carolina. In its heyday, the radio station hosted the likes of Johnny Cash, Tex Ritter, and other country music luminaries when they passed through western North Carolina. In fact, one of our associates remembers once DJ-ing at the radio station back in the 1980s. “I played a lot of Dolly and Kenny,” she tells us. Today the Madcap Cottage HQ is a welcoming beacon of prints, patterns, and color in an oft-beige world. Join the army!
Is the Madcap Cottage HQ open to the public?
Sadly, no. But if you happen to pull into our driveway, knock, and ask nicely, we might just give you a little tour and offer up a coffee if we are in town.
Does Madcap Cottage have a North Carolina showroom?
No. You can find the Madcap Cottage product range at the wonderful Boxwood Antique Market in heart of downtown High Point, North Carolina. The address is 520 North Hamilton Street, High Point North Carolina and the phone number is 336-781-3111.
Where can I find a list of retailers who carry Madcap Cottage products?

Can the Madcap Cottage pups—Weenie, Cecil, George, and Beau—be shipped to me to brighten up my day?
Sadly, they cannot. But you may send them treats. They will be most grateful and will probably lick the box. Please note that we support Ruff Love Rescue, a Thomasville, North Carolina-based no-kill pet rescue, so feel free to give them a donation if you are feeling so inclined.
Do the Madcap Cottage gents still offer interior design services?

Is there a customer service telephone number and who answers it?

Can I combine multiple discounts into one purchase?
No. One discount per order.
Can I apply current advertised discounts to prior purchases?
Unfortunately, no. Sale and discount pricing cannot be applied to previous orders. We are also unable to cancel and reissue existing orders to apply sale pricing.
I am having trouble placing an order, what can I do?

Help! I need my Madcap Cottage purchase by a specific date!

If part of my order has a long lead time, ie furniture and rugs, is my entire order held?
No. We will ship your order as specific items are available. You will receive email notifications that will alert you when items have shipped.
My order is a gift for someone, are you able to gift wrap the item for me and include a personalized note?
We love to wrap a gift and include a personalized note. Please make note of your request in the notes section when you place the order.
Fabrics and Wallpapers
What size are Madcap Cottage fabric samples?
Our fabric samples are 9" squares.
What size are Madcap Cottage wallpaper samples?
Our wallpaper samples are 12"L x 7" W
Can Madcap Cottage fabrics be printed on any substrates besides how they are currently printed, such as velvet, outdoor, etc?
Absolutely! Because we print to order in America, we are very nimble and love to offer capabilities that other, more corporate fabric and wallpaper houses are not able to deliver. For a custom order, we ask for a TK-yard minimum. And, yes, we can print on velvet, 100% cotton, 100% linen. And, yes, we can “chintz” fabric to give it a lovely polished cotton look and feel. We can also craft Madcap Cottage outdoor fabrics that will withstand the wear and tear of the great outdoors. Can Madcap Cottage wallpapers be printed on any substrates besides how they are currently printed, such as grasscloth, vinyl, etc?
Absolutely! Because we print to order in America, we are very nimble and love to offer capabilities and substrates that other wallpaper houses are not able to deliver. Please reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com
Are Madcap Cottage wallpapers available as peel and stick?
Any Madcap Cottage pattern can be ordered as a wallpaper in any of three formats:
- Untrimmed traditional, clay-coated paper
- Peel and stick paper
- Pre-pasted paper
Can I custom-color fabrics and wallpaper?
Absolutely. Please reach out to us for more information on minimums, etc.
Can I change the scale of a fabric or wallpaper pattern?

If I custom color (or change the scale of) a fabric or wallpaper, can I order a strike-off of the fabric or wallpaper?

Frequently asked questionI don’t have a local workroom to make window treatments and such with Madcap Cottage fabrics. Does Madcap Cottage offer custom capabilities such as crafting bespoke window treatments, bedding, table linens, and more?

General Shipping
I received a damaged item. What should I do?
You have the right to refuse the item. Please document any and all damage with detailed photographs of the packaging before refusing. Please do NOT discard of any damaged packaging materials as UPS, etc. will not process a claim without very specific images of the damaged box, etc.
Make a note of the damage on the delivery service’s paperwork before signing for the item. If you do NOT note the damage on the paperwork, it is likely that we will not be able to issue a refund or replace the item.
Whether #1 or #2, you must reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com with your contact information, order number, description of damage, and photographs of the damage and damaged packaging. We will then work with you to correct the problem.
I am missing an item from my order. What should I do?
Since some items ship directly from the manufacturer and others are shipped from our warehouse, your purchase(s) may arrive in more than one shipment. Your order confirmation will note how items have shipped and the number of shipments per order. Please check this information before contacting us. If you have checked this
information and find that you are still missing part of your order, please reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com.
White-Glove Shipping
What is White-Glove Shipping?
Our white-glove service will deliver an item into your home. As this service is significantly more costly than traditional shipping methods, it is reserved for furniture and rugs larger than 8’ x 10’.
White-glove items will not be delivered without a scheduled delivery appointment. Once the shipper has collected your order from us, they will reach out to you to schedule the delivery.
What if I need an item moved up or down stairs, unpacked, or placed in specific location within my home?
White Glove Shipping rates include moving furniture up two sets of stairs. Please reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com if access to your room of choice requires more than two flights of stairs as we will need to obtain a revised shipping quote.
Returns
What is your Returns Policy?
We accept returns on the following purchases ONLY:
- Rugs
- Lighting
- Accessories
You may return any unopened/unused rugs, lighting, and accessories within 7 days of receipt for a full refund through the original form of payment. Shipping fees are not refundable with the exception of damaged merchandise. Should you wish to return an item, please reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com with your order number, contact information, and the reason for the return. We will email you back within 24 hours. You are responsible for all return shipping costs. All returned items must be sent back in their original packaging.
Please note that the following items have restocking fees:
- Rugs larger than 3’ x 5’ -- $100 per item
- Lighting -- $50 per item
As fabrics, wallpaper, trim, and furniture are made to order, these items CANNOT be returned.
Any Custom items—such as bespoke pillows, window treatments, table linens, and bedding—cannot be returned either.
Can I exchange an item?
No. We do not offer exchanges. Please read our Returns Policy, above.
Can I return Madcap Cottage Vintage items?
Please be sure to review the Vintage listing/photos and video content carefully (and ask any questions about any possible damage/wear and tear/etc. to the item before you make the purchase) as Madcap Cottage Vintage items cannot be returned. All Vintage sales are final. Period.
Can I return fabric, wallpaper, trim, rug, and furniture finish samples?
Sorry, no. These are samples and non-returnable.
Can I return wallpaper and fabric?
No. All wallpaper and fabric sales are final. If you are unsure about a wallpaper or fabric color or pattern, we suggest that you order a sample before finalizing your purchase. All Madcap Cottage wallpapers and fabrics are printed to order. If you need to adjust or cancel your order you must notify us in writing at hello@madcapcottage.com within 24 hours of the order being placed.
Can I return paper products such as tableware or stationery?
Sorry, no. Our paper products are printed to order and cannot be returned.
Can I return my custom workroom order?
Sorry, our custom table linens, pillows, bedding, etc. are not returnable as they are made to order.
Can I return final-sale or clearance items?
Sorry, but final-sale or clearance items cannot be returned.
Can I return holiday or seasonal items such as wrapping paper or Christmas-themed table decor?
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns on holiday and seasonal products.
How do I return an item?
