Can I apply current advertised discounts to prior purchases?
Unfortunately, no. Sale and discount pricing can not be applied to previous orders. We are also unable to cancel and reissue existing orders to apply sale pricing.
What is your Returns Policy?
We accept returns only on the following purchases: 2' x 3' accent rugs, lighting, and accessories. As fabrics, wallpaper, trim, rugs larger than 2' x 3', and furniture are made to order, these items CANNOT be returned. Any Custom items—such as bespoke pillows, window treatments, table linens, and bedding—cannot be returned either. You may return any unopened/unused products delineated above—i.e., 2' x 3' accent rugs, lighting, and accessories—within 7 days of receipt for a full refund through the original form of payment. Shipping fees are not refundable with the exception of damaged merchandise. Should you wish to return an item please reach out to us at hello@madcapcottage.com with your order number, contact information, and the reason for the return.
You are responsible for all return shipping costs. All returned items must be sent back in their original packaging.
Can I return vintage items?
Vintage items cannot be returned.
Can I return fabric, wallpaper, trim, rug, and furniture finish samples?
Sorry, no.
Can the Madcap Cottage pups—Weenie, Cecil, George, and Beau—be shipped to me to brighten my day?
Sadly, they cannot. But you may send them treats. They will be most grateful and will probably lick the box.
Can I return rugs?
Only 2' x 3' accent rugs are eligible for return within 7 days of receipt and must be returned in re-sellable condition.
Can I return wallpaper and fabric?
Sorry, all wallpaper and fabric sales are final. If you are unsure about a wallpaper or fabric color or pattern, we suggest that you order a sample before finalizing your purchase. All Madcap Cottage wallpapers and fabrics are printed to order. If you need to adjust or cancel your order you must notify us in writing at hello@madcapcottage.com within 24 hours of the order being placed.
Can I return paper products such as tableware or stationery?
Sorry, our paper products are printed to order and cannot be returned.
Can I return my custom workroom order?
Sorry, our custom table linens, pillows, bedding, etc. is not returnable as it is made to order.
Can I return final-sale or clearance items?
Sorry, but final-sale or clearance items cannot be returned or exchanged.
Can I return holiday or seasonal items such as wrapping paper or Christmas-themed table decor?
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns on holiday and seasonal products.
How do I return an item?

What are the returns shipping and restocking fees?
You are responsible for all return shipping costs. Rugs larger than 3’ x 5’ and lighting products have restocking fees.
