We love the whimsical nod to the Madcap brood of pugs. As many of you may know, the Madcap gents have four-pound rescue dogs. (Read their book “Prints Charming” for many more stories on their designs and love of pugs!)
As part of their Madcap Cottage for PORT 68 collection, we added the finial on the jar lid to be the shape of a pug dog. Its all in fun with a nod to their pugs, and their love of antique decorative objects.
The overall vermicelli pattern name Venezia is a reference to the canals of Venice and all the movement of water. John Loecke painted the pattern as a memory to one of their trips to the Grand Canal in Venice.
The porcelain jar has a lift-off lid. Perfect on the bar as a champagne bucket, or on the sideboard used as a planter. So many uses which allow you to be adventurous in decorating the home.
