A Life Well Lived!

John and I are excited to have so many good things in the works—from the just re-launched Madcap Cottage website that you are currently perusing to various new licenses—from rugs and lighting to bedding—that will debut in the upcoming months. The goal for a global Madcap “lifestyle” brand that is all about aspirational-accessible design is quickly coming to life.

Next month, our third—and final—fabric collection for Robert Allen @Home, A Life Well Lived, debuts at Calico outposts from coast to coast—as well as in trade showrooms globally and at smaller fabric stores domestically. Think relaxed. Easy. Chic. Inviting. Gracious. A celebration of tradition, family, adventure, and spirited gatherings. Croquet on the lawn, iced tea upon the porch, and the languid scent of summer flowers perfuming the air. The skies are impossibly blue, trees sway in the balmy breezes, and the picnic hamper overflows with lemonade and sandwiches, crust cut off, natch. The crunch of gravel, the crisp clip of boxwood, and a riot of nasturtiums reaching hither and yon. It’s high noon. Kick back on the sofa, pillows piled high, and embrace the daydream. The door’s open, welcome home. Welcome to a life well lived.

Each fabric pattern in our brand-new collection—and in our previous two Madcap groupings for Robert Allen @Home, Into the Garden and A Collector’s Eye—is a collaboration between the Madcaps and the Robert Allen studio team: There were sketches, vintage fabric swatches, tear sheets pulled from magazines, drawings, watercolors, tales culled from our travels, movie references, cocktail recipes, and more that helped shape the various fabric storylines. All of the fabrics in the three collections are beautifully crafted, printed in America, and deliciously affordable.

Enjoy the ride, it’s a lot of fun.

Bring the adventure home.
