A New Madcap HQ!
John and I are so excited to be setting out on yet another adventure, the purchase and renovation of a new office in Thomasville, North Carolina. Our four years in a former pharmacy in the heart of downtown High Point, NC have been great, but we have outgrown our current space and need a building with more natural light and a more office-like structure.
Last summer, John and I started looking for new office spaces, and we weren’t having much luck. Everything was either too big or too expensive or needed too much work. Until, that is, our dynamo real estate broker remembered that a 1960s-era former radio station just down the road in up-and-coming Thomasville was for sale. We trundled over to see the white-brick building, and we were instantly smitten. The perfect size and the perfect price–and heaps of history to boot! Johnny Cash is but one luminary who had visited the station back in its heyday.
John and I made an offer on the building that accepted, and we soon commenced the renovation of the space with a crackerjack project manager who has overseen every detail. And, whew! It’s been a busy few months. New electric and plumbing… We had the original casement windows renovated… We installed HVAC… Dry wall is about to go in. Lots more to do, but it’s looking great.
The Madcap Cottage HQ opens in July, so get ready!
